I know this is the "What's it Worth?" forum but if I had a definative grade I could figure the rest. Being that it's my coin, more objective opinions are better at a truer grade.
Looks cleaned because of uniformity of surface - all parts of the surface look the same, no color nuances. Maybe the photograph?
I haven't denied anything. I only asked questions as to what a couple based their opinion on. If they are seeing something that I don't, it would be to my benefit to know what it was. Many eyes are always better than 2.
I must agree, looks cleaned to me. Even color, no sort of patina at all for a coin that (believed) grade and the hairlines caught my attention
OK I'll go along with that if you can point out where you see hairlines. Though it's not completely the best picture there is noticeable original surfaces on this coin. Since when does lack of patina indicate cleaning. I'm sorry guys but I am an engineer and as such, at no time am I allowed to make a statement that I can't back up with an educated, documented explanation. I have a great deal of respect for anyone who sticks to their guns wrong or not, but they can't be effective if they're unloaded.
Does anyone else think the coin has been dipped in some kind of silver polish? Hommer, how slippery does the coin feel?
Even with that, I noticed that the four scratches on the obverse of the coin are all facing the same direction. This indicates to me that someone has messed with the coin...
