marc-h & Phoenix are both right , whatever AJ does is OK he played by the rules and made out , people try to do the same thing everyday and they are praised for it , its only AJs choice to make not ours . rzage
Reading the rest of the thread, it occured to me that some may be unaware of the gross overgrading that PCGS and NGC both do for these key-date coins. I'll bet you submit that coin 10 more times it never comes in lower than XF 40. Sad...Mike
who said that. we are going to teach others on how to follow morals for their coins. as long as we dont have to do it for ours
Now heres an idea..... Take PCGS up on the grade guarantee thing. I will bring the coin to Long Beach with me, and see about getting it into a VF holder and taking the differance in cash from PCGS. I could then donate the $$$ allowance to a YN here on the boards in the form of a contest or something. This idea struck me while reading a thread on the CU forum. Thoughts?
its a noble idea and it seems the right thing to do and if PCGS doesnt downgrade the coin then you can sell it for what it is. However there are times when you lose money on coins as wlel so you really dont have to give away the profits if you make some from PCGS but if you want to do it go right ahead :thumb: good night
Jack, I was wondering if the 09-S was the one you got from me! It takes me awhile to read all of the posts as I am still half asleep. I agree with both our assessments on the grade and that PCGS overgraded it. Is it possible that they were taking Market Grading into consideration since the 09-S' are very hot sellers right now???!!! I would say that the bump-up is a bonus and if you are going to sell it, then put it on eBay with great pictures and let the bidders decide for themselves. Frank
LOL Hey Frank, how about I add " possible SVDB " in the Ebay title and we both go on a drinking binge with all the extra money that'll bring?
