I understand that perspective, but there has to be consideration for year / mint in certain cases. Perfect example - 1908 Indian $2.5 . This was the first time in history the US made incuse design coins. Inexperience led to poorly produced dies. Even the best strikes, and best preserved coins, have less detail than later years.
i am going to go to 62 due to the marks in the lower field, neck, and cheek on obverse and in fields (especially lower ) on reverse areas as well as the fingerprints combined w/ the flatness of upper hair lines and light definition on eagles breast. it looks like it may be frosty and in hand a grader may bump to 63. i tend to grade photos on the conservative side. thanks for sharing whatever the date and mint.
I'd say MS 62. There seems to be a bit of flatness in the hair above the eyes and below the ear. Other than that, not a bad coin. Guy~
Looks like she could be a VAM-2A. Is there something going on in "In God We Trust" ? It looks doubled in the pic, but see no diagnostic for such. There is one for a partially filled "G", but that's it.
Well you peaked my interest in the VAM & it turns out to be a- 1879-CC VAM-4 Doubled Right C in Mint Mark Thanks for the reply -
