I was really going off red book. Still working on it. What really though me off is the damages to coins and cleaning of the coins.
I’m pretty conservative but the full definition of the rims and the full lettering of liberty grade it a solid vg in my opinion
And Bill I know you're a better grader than to make this statement....as the total condition of the specimen needs to be considered ,not just Liberty is readable. Those guidelines may have been printed in the past as just that a guide line....but in no way can they be used especially on a detailed coin as such.....heck it's an R-4 half dime...I would love to call it xf.
I agree and didn’t feel like typing all the reasons for my grade. But to me the overall appearance and sharpness is better than good why my vg8 grade. Tho I’m grading the sharpness. I would probably in hand call it environment damaged details but the pics don’t give me a good enough picture of the surfaces. Just the sharpness and degree of wear. We both know how subjective grading can be too
No!!!- that's not what I said ....I gave it an g-04 what.... I said was.....I would like to call it an xf as it is an R-4 coin meaning it be worth some serious $$ if it ended up with the rarer die marriage. But someone wanting this to fill a slot I say $50 would be a fair value.
So I been reading you guys post and setting back to see what you really think. Paddy54 I looked up the lm-3 obv 1 rev m. Never new! Hummm. Didn’t know.
