What Sal said? Do those go for big premiums? I have no idea. That's a weird but beautiful penny. Just stop it. I really don't want to lose the rest of my eyesight looking at pocket change.
Thanks, broadstrucks are a fun sub set, they happen on all series of coins. Here is a short read on the minting process. We'll start with how dies are made, bookmark the page for your reference. https://doubleddie.com/58201.html Here is another, and the reference for this type of error. https://www.error-ref.com/?s=broadstrike
Yeah as you said this one was hammered. The plating took a beating. This coin shows some wild heavily offset split plate doubling Lincoln profile, the L on the rim. What happened though is the collar didn't deploy upon strike, it caused the spreading you see.
Now that you mention it, I'm due for about a dozen raw oysters on the half shell. Some idiots put a raw one in a shot glass with vodka and horseradish sauce in it. Ick. I love oysters, but not oyster cocktails.
Never had 'em. I'll try anything once though. I like mussels and clams, so maybe with lemon and whatever else that people eat them with (horseradish). Not in a cup though. Not making soup you know!
that is the one thing I do miss about florida (jacksonville to be specific) There was this shrimp and oyster bar my cousin introduced me too for $30 bucks you got a bucket of oysters, a bucket of steamed shrimp a small bbq chicken and a pitcher of beer.. even 30yrs ago that was a good deal but OMG the gas on the way home was deadly lol (i should also mention the scantilly clad bar ladies that did nothing but refill your beer mugs and open oysters for you )
Umm, where was this again? (As I look back for the wife, aka the boss). Sounds more like Motorcycle week at Sturgis! LOL.
