Got this for a few dollars

This coin was in a complete annex holder now it's in a half annex half of an annex holder.... The person who sold it to me said that he did not agree with the grade it was given... I will try to post better pics to see if I can ascertain why...

Doesn't look like a problem coin so I'd resubmit.

 

Not even worth the cost of slabbing. Without a serial number they can't just reholder it.

 

I see a cleaned and retoned coin with a big patch of hairlines on the center sail, but I could be wrong.

I'm also guessing that the seller said he "disagreed" with the original ANACS grade, but wasn't willing to say what that grade was.

 

+1 color looks off.

 

If the seller broke the holder like that to sell it, chances are I would have passed. I don't like to buy from dealers who play games.

It's a raw coin now that will swim or sink on its merits. Since it's a Columbian half dollar, it's got to be really nice to amount to much.
