13 years old, went to the bank the first day these were available, then straight to the post office to get stamped!
If I remember correctly, we thought these would be worth big money some day, I'm guessing I did the upside down stamp intentionally, not much other reason for it!
That's a cool find from the wild. Someone inherited some SC's, was told they're worth face plus 15¢ so they spent it.
There are people who do collect these first day of issue notes. It may be worth more than face to them. Don't know how to find them though.
I never understood why this became a fad but I know some people collect them. I got a couple of them from my bank when I bought their supply of $2 bills, but the stamps had been torn off. I spent all of them just to see the look on young clerks faces. LOL
