I ordered 10 2017 ASE from Bullion exchanges ebay store, paid 21$ a coin and they accidentally sent me proofs, They are now asking for the proofs back and they will send me the bullion coins. Being they are such a big company i do not feel obligated to send them back but wanted to get the opinion of some coin collectors. What would you do if you were in my position?
Hmmmmm The RIGHT thing to do is send back but.... I feel that some sort of compensation should be owed for your time/trouble/extra expenses (?)
In my opinion, they made an error it's not your responsibility or obligation to correct it. That being said...if you think it's the right thing to do (which it probably is)...I would probably do it. In my opinion, the "size" of the company doesn't have any bearing on such a decission.
Let your conscience be your guide. I agree with Camaro. The size of the company makes no difference. What matters is your philosophy on what happens when people make mistakes.
I agree with this. They need to cover the shipping costs and honestly, they should probably compensate you in some way for your time and trouble.
I probably left out the biggest part, they actually sent me NGC graded PF70 proofs, all 10 brown labels. They have been calling me about every half hour saying they need them back to fill orders.
This. It’s wrong to just keep them but it’s also wrong for them to expect someone else to pay for their mistakes.
The pf70 proof they sell for $118 per coin so its a big price difference, I paid 211$ for all 10 coins which would not even cover two of the ones they sent.
Send the bloody things back. It's the right thing to do, but have the bollocks cover the shipping. Otherwise, I'd tell them to go pound sand........
Send them back in their return postage package. ASK if you could keep one for your trouble (it doesn't cost or hurt to ask) Then ask if they are hiring?
If it's through ebay, make sure everything is in writing. It would be best to have it logged. There is no reason why they should not pay you for return shipping. It's their mistake. Don't let them hassle you any longer. I cannot see how it is acceptable for them to call you every half an hour.
I would send them back provided they paid for the shipping. Everyone makes an honest mistake. If it was my company, I’d also throw an extra ASE on your order.
