Nice coins. Gold fever easy to shake tho. At least for me. Go look at a toned proof trade dollar. Or a draped bust coin. Or a no stars seated. Or a 1793 large cent. Gold who needs it. ;)

I'd have gold fever if I could afford draped or capped bust gold. I think the chief is the only one among us collecting it. His coins always make me drool

Sweet coins. I have to second the sentiments towards the capped and draped bust coins also. But, there is something very alluring about gold.

That's a good start young man. Your 14-D has a mintage of 448,000 but apx. 35,000 have survived in all grades, per Coin Facts. More than a few of the '14-D coins were turned into the 1911-D counterfeits.

My first gold piece was a 1915 Indian.

JLogan, do you know why they quit making the Indian Quarter and Half Eagles?

The public thought the incuse design captured and spread germs. It's in the Red Book.

I don't believe this is why they stopped making. The public was nervous about it at first, but according to wiki..." With the economic collapse which started the Depression, the quarter eagle was not called for in commerce, and the Mint halted production."
