    Actually, I've had friends tell me that they 'had to go to temple' so I figured the term was correct. :)

    The term "temple" for a synagogue seems to be quite common in North America. Even though some will say that there can only be one temple - in Jerusalem. If you use "synagogue", you're on the safe side from what I have learned. :)

    Two from Turkey; both commemorate Nasreddin Hoca. Nasreddin stories are usually both moral and humorous, but sometimes he is a (charming) crook. The older coin is a 750,000 (old) lira coin issued in 1996 (image from Catawiki); the other one is a 35 lira piece from 2008. Nasreddin is often depicted with a giant turban, like on that newer coin. :)
