There are some pretty tough-looking lions on coins but the Iran lion has a sword. There are other countries that depict lions with swords but I think this one is pretty cool.
It gets even more subtle. You can find a tiny cat on every new Belgian coin ... About a year ago (1 June 2012), the Belgian Mint got a new director, Bernard Gillard. And the mint puts both the mintmark and the mintmaster's mark on each coin. Since Gillard loves cats - he has seven or so - , he chose what as his mark? Christian
