I told my wife that I still needed a Carson City AV Eagle/ to my surprise I found out she had won one from the recent Heritage Auction. The coin is not perfect/ but its still a MS-62, so I guess I can't complaino_O lf (4).jpg lf (5).jpg

As a long time collector of this type coin, from what I can see, it's my opinion that coin is undergraded. That coin is an example of a coin I would submit to CAC. You've a great catch in both your coin, and wife!

This is believed a normal TPG MS62 graded $10 Liberty Eagle:

Au is the chemical abbreviation for gold. Sometimes written AU. Latin for gold is aurum. In old Latin, U was often written as V; hence, AV abbreviation for gold. Still used by collectors of ancient coins.

send her to CAC or even get it regraded in the holder, that is undergraded! That's a keeper!

It sure is a very nice gold coin, but you can’t call it undergraded based on provided pictures. I don’t think she has enough luster for a higher grade and/or there could even be some wear...

    Just got home from work...

Actually, she was one of my lawn maintenance clients. She would always come out with a couple of ice cold Coronas:happy:
Then she invited me over for dinner/ then she popped the question, "Would you like to go to a movie" The rest was history, I ended up with a second house in the deal, she got to drive my Corvette convertible. I am the first "German" member of her family tree, probably a good thing:happy:
