So how do you like the US Mint's cost savings on the smaller boxes ? I don't mind the size so much except I can't get the boxes open from the super glue they are using. At least now they fit in the mailbox which is a plus, but I do miss the nice mail-lady when she had to deliver to the door.

( No Ken, I am not a nasty old man).

LOL Dave. I was going to start a thread on the same subject. You can't get the blasted flaps up. You have to wedge a scissor in and gradually pry the flap up. I suppose in a way it's a good thing. The taped box was very easy to break into and now with the gorilla glued flaps the bad guys won't be able to so easily tear into things. I gather they'd make rather the spectacle of themselves if they attempted to do so......:)

I agree. The US Mint boxes are as tough to open as APMEX shippers.

Now, that being said, I'd much rather have it the way it is now. It's much safer for the contents and you can't easily tamper with the contents "by accident".

    Bigger boxes are better.

UPS or OOPS - Probably a good thing Ken. Remember the rule,
    "No fraternizing with the personnel".

Maybe I'm too cynical, but these boxes make it harder to return items. I usually destroy the boxes in the process of opening them.

Which probably stops a few borderline sets from being returned. Perhaps the mint is saving more money, than just on missing coins?

If you insert the scissor correctly you won't harm the box.......
