Good old 1869 IHC ugly but also not

    Yea luckily it didn’t do any further damage and it was found when it was! Maybe a nice soak in olive oil wouldn’t hurt but there’s not much of doing anything at this point I’d say. And no worries!

    Many of my old coins look rough, and really show their age. i imagine many were dug up, recovered from farmer's fields, etc. This one is from Mysore State in India, 1838 XX cash.

    That’s a sweet looking coin! I don’t know much about any world coins so this would be Indian? Do you know the denomination?

    Yes, India, 20 cash. Goggle "1838 mysore 20 cash numista" and you will get more story about it. Way too many of us Americans barely realize that there is a whole world out there, and it has been around since long before 1492.

    I’ll take a look. Yes sir a lot longer then that! I picked up some old AD ancient Roman coins just because I thought they were neat. Not sure if they’re worth much of anything just cool to have a piece of history that’s been around a whole lot longer then myself.
