Hello CT. As has happened to many of us, I got my first big bank find. Walked in as a normal day getting change for work. One of the tellers runs up to me and says "I got an old old coin I want to show you, she says I bought it out because I knew it was a Morgan." At the point I was let down as she was just showing it to me. Then she says the same lady brought in a bunch of rolls also but the teller didn't want the rolls. I took a gamble buying all 10 rolls. Luckily for me 7 were full silver. The totals are below. $34 face - franklins $20 face - 90% JFK $3 face - 40% JFK $12 face - walkers I cannot wait to get off work!!! Pictures below.
Congratulations! I went through a box of dimes today and found nothing but two pennies from Trinidad and Tobago in the bank rolls. I hope that your luck continues! ~ Error66.
Yep, it's the circle of numismatic life. I just hope it's not one of my descendants who eventually cashes in my silver at face value! Congrats on the find! Nice, quick way to turn $100 into $800 or so...
Congrats! I'm still waiting for my big score from CWRs... heck, I'd settle for a friendly teller like you have! ;-)
Tell me about it. I always thought it would never happen to me. Now I hope it happens to the next YN. This helped me out a lot. It tripled my 90% I have accumulated over my first two years of collecting.
Good for you, but this is why I left written instructions in my safe in case anything were to happen to me.
My biggest 'score' was getting a bunch of highly 'circulated/dinged' clad Ike's worth face value each LOL... congrats on hitting it big!!
Nice! Usually when I see that style of wrapper, I don't get too excited because it's usually re-rolled junk. My big score came pretty early in my hunting career - I'm itching for the next one!
I no longer CRH, but 10-20 years ago I got much more silver out of those loose rolls that would come in than from boxes.
