I recently saw an engraving of this buffalo for sale at a show. How can you tell if it is real or not. The man wanted $725.00 for it, it looked old and had a bunch of holes around all sides of the edges. He said it was on a dryer rack at engraving company. Is that true? What is a dryer rack?
I believe the proof you saw is mentioned in post #22 of this thread: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/pablo-the-bison-10-united-states-note.245203/page-2 RickieB is no longer with us, but it was in his collection at one time. Honestly, I'm not sure what a "dryer rack" is and I don't know why you'd need to punch holes to help the paper dry. By typically the paper is damp when you run off a proof on a spider press.
