Hi all, I'm planning on writing a paper about early Chinese coins and especially paper money for a class of mine.
I would welcome any recommendations for good book sources that not only go into history but also the numismatics of that sort of money.
    Thanks!

How early would you consider "early" Chinese coins? It could go easily more than 2000+ years.

Might be of some help :

The german auction house Teutoburger Münzauktion had a run of 5 or 6 auctions dedicated solely to chinese coinage in 2011-2012 (hundred (thousands ?) of chinese coins, with illustrations and references). I have the China II catalog (auction # 58)

You may probably find them online or at the auction house

Sorry I wasn't clear. I'm looking for coins and currency during the early stages of paper money, I guess this would be the Tang dynasty?
