Hey Guys...without pics, assuming all are circulated and somewhat worn...anything here have the potential to be worth anything materially over face value ? End-of-year so time-pressed and if I can avoid Googling for a few hours or scanning CT threads, time saved is time I can spend shopping for my nephew and nieces....THANKS !! (1) PEACE DOLLARS: I have 4 1922 Peace Dollars....1 1923 Peace Dollar. All look circulated, but not heavily worn down. Probably AU 50's, maybe EF grade. (2) MORGAN DOLLARS: I have 2 1921 MSDs...plus 1887, 1886, and 1882. Heavily circulated. (3) IKEs: A 1972 and a 1974. 15 bicentenials. Circulated. (4) JFK HALFs: A roll of bicentinnial 1976 JFKs plus three 1974's. And another dozen JFKs from 1967-69. (5) QUARTERS: A few 1964 silver rolls plus 1 bicentenial 1976 roll. (6) WHEAT PENNIES: 1940...1940-D........1941...1942....1944......1944-D....1945.....1945-D....1946....1948....1950-D......1951....1951-D.....1952-D.......1953....1953-D......1954-D.....1955......1956....1956-D....1957..1957-D....1958-D....1958.... (7) SACAGAEA and SBA's: A few dozen of each.
@GoldFinger1969 You're going to spend more time listing this stuff anywhere else.....eBay, Etsy or Craigslist. Why don't you list all of the silver (only) with a "Make Offer" in our B/S/T forums, and forget about the rest. Bicentennials, SBA's & Sac's are a dime a dozen unless they are high grades, MS68 or better. Chris
Circulated Morgan & Peace dollars I would expect around $15.00-$16.00 each. 1964 quarters about ten times face. Common wheat cents maybe .03 cents each. The Ike’s & SBA’s are cool and I save them myself, however are only worth face value.
Thanks guys.....I have SO MUCH crap from my childhood that is worth so little...but takes up SO MUCH SPACE...that if I can finally ditch it for 1 nice MSD (or better yet, 1 common Saint !), I'd be happy. Could also use the closet space.....
You’ll net about 10 times face on eBay. Local buyers will pay about 12-13 x face. LCS somewhere between that.
What's weird is that a few of the coins I touched looked like they had silvery powder on them, not like a modern ASE which has no residue. My grandparents had these coins for years.
@Randy Abercrombie said pre 1964, not Quarters. '64 Quarters as you know are 90% silver. It's the holidays, 3 1/2 shopping days left and as you stated, you have a lot from your childhood. I know it's a lot to deal with. Been there myself, most of us have. Please do not take this the wrong way but it's time to step back and take a breath. These are good guys and they are trying to help you. They are giving you their time and opinions free of charge. Only you can make the decision that you feel is best for you and your family. We can disagree but that is our choice. We don't live in your shoes or deal with your problems. Maybe you should take everything you want to sell to your LCS and see what they are willing to give you for it. Clean out that closet. Maybe you can get a decent price for a trade on a coin the Saint you want. Maybe your kids or grandchildren would like to have some of those coins. The decision is yours.
