Terrific set. A pleasure to look at, and so glad you shared it. I know you worked on it a long time. You deserve all the praise you're getting and more.

I sure wish I had started building my collection about 20 years ago.

Nope. It was between 2001 and 2003. I forget the exact year, but think it was in 2002. It was definitely post-millennium when I got that PCGS MS63 OGH 1908 NM Saint for 400 bucks delivered. Bought it from a member off the PCGS B/S/T forum, which I joined in August of '01.

Also bought a 1904 $20 Lib in a PCI green label MS62 holder for 400 bucks (essentially melt~ish price at the time), in the early 2000s. Cracked it out and submitted it to PCGS (at the '05 or '06 FUN show, as I recall). It came back PCGS MS64. Even back then, that was a nice little lick. Cha-ching.

    Interesting...gold didn't cross $400 until early-2004.

The generic MS65 Saint commons were about $900 in 2000 but doubled to about $1,800 by 2004. They would sell for about $3,000 for 2009-11 as gold rose. The premium to bullion is much steeper for MS65's than MS63's, though nothing compared to the 1990 bubble peak of over $4,500 (when gold was 1/3rd the price of 2010 or 2011).

You should be very proud, as that is quite an accomplishment.

    Wonderful examples.

    Congratulations!
