SO I just began this year looking at some gold bullion again and noticed that the design features on the 2013 Panda's is really nice. The last one I owned (years ago) was the 1987 Y .50 oz coin where the Panda was drinking from water. The 2013 shows 3 Pandas drinking from water and seems hard to find in fractional denominations at a decent price. Whats up with this coin Panda lovers? RickieB
All the gold fractionals, from every country, sell at premium prices. More people can afford fractionals than the 1-ounce coins, i.e., greater demand, plus the fancy packaging and the padded shipping costs remain nearly the same as the "ounce" coin, so proportionally, prices are higher. Sales of 1-ounce coins would tumble if 1/10th-ounce coins cost exactly 1/10 as much, delivered.
