great info and history @TypeCoin971793 I love to see people in this hobby that are dedicated to it and educating others. here are some of my wang mang and Han coins and some ban liang coin not sure they are ban liang of Han or Qin?? please let me know your thought on these. I got them from CNG and came from a collection going back to 1940s so hopefully they are authentic.

They all look authentic. What is the size and weight of the Ban Liang?

Thanks @TypeCoin971793 they all connected to original cupboard from old Chinese collection so I can't weight them without detaching them from board but I can get the size for you when I get home.

i do buy these dao bi coins from private auction and they were same likewise shown in picture but when i cleaned them i was so surprised to see the golden petina on these coins.it seems that coins were gold plated or something if someone has any suggestion.it would be more than welcome

These coins were never originally plated. I suspect you have a fake of some sort

So I pulled this coin out again because I like holding it and examining it (who wouldn’t!), and I noticed something absolutely cool! There are impressions on the reverse, called patina transfer, from where another coin was up against my coin in the ground. They were broken apart in (relatively) recent times and parted ways.

The left is how it appears on my coin, and the right is reversed to show the strokes of the mystery coin.

These are the strokes I am sure of.

I made the assumption that the mystery coin had to be a Wang Wang coin, and it appeared that the value-400 spade was the closest fit. Here is my (very rough) extrapolation.

Here are some examples. Lining my coin up with these shows that the size of the mystery impression is consistent with the value-400 spade.

Any thoughts are welcome. @AnYangMan @Ken Dorney
