Hi all! Thanks for taking time, looking at my coin and guessing on the grade. You all have made me quite happy! NGC graded this coin MS 61. I wanted to buy a $10 Liberty gold piece for a while for my Liberty denomination set. I was patient and tried to pick one that I thought was really nice for the grade. I think that the reason NGC graded it MS 61 is because of the abundance of hairlines and scuffs. The small hairlines and scuffs is the exact reason that I picked this coin. I wanted a coin that had no large detracting marks on it, but I was okay with having many smaller ones. This to me helps give the coin better eye appeal as there's not a "sore thumb" that sticks out on it. It also has great luster which may or may not be evident from the images. I think that NGC's MS 61 grade is okay, but I could have maybe gone MS 62 on it also (but then I wouldn't have gotten as good of a deal on it ). I can tell you that I've definitely seen coins that aren't this nice in 62 holders. Well thanks again for looking and I hope that this was fun for everybody to get a shot at grading gold. It's definitely a tough task and also one that I by no means am an expert at, but I'm getting a little better all the time.
