Gold coin error or damaged?

    Man, it looks like someone went to town on that thing. Beat the heck out of it. I guess intense heat could do that too. Can you make out any of the letters? That first photo of yours looks like "E" something, something, "A", something, "E". And is that a date at three o'clock? Is that gold covering another material?

    I can clearly make out “Eliza” which makes me think it was possibly a Canadian coin

    If the coin is made out of gold, melt it and be done with it.
    If it isn't, throw it away and be done with it.

    It has clearly been damaged, it never left a mint looking like that. Elizabeth could also mean that it was once a GB sovereign or similar

    No offense, but in it's current condition, I don't think that what it once was makes any difference whatsoever.

    It looks like a extremely damaged canadian $1 loonie can you weigh it.Should be around 6 grams with all that destruction.
