Thanks to all for your comments and thanks to your postings as well. I think tradernicks quote sums up all of our feelings as well. Jody my friend, this yankee lives down here now full time so I guess my kids will be rebels with a cause. They do like country music even if their dad used to dance disco where "Saturday Night Fever" was filmed in Bayridge Brooklyn. Anyway, Scooby you seem to be doing everything correctly already with your 401k and Roth IRA. Money markets are a little better then savings accounts (interest wise) to keep backup cash and you can get that free checking as well. I think you are smart at looking at gold. I always felt that a person should always have some gold for investment for potential worth value as well as a hedge to protect against the unknown. Little did my wife know that the gold jewerly that I have bought her over the years was also bought for that purpose. I like the American Bullion gold coins myself but I will mix them up with some South Africa and perhaps English gold for world recognition value. However, it will not make up more then 10 percent of my total investments for the year. In my mind, the big key this year is how is world terrorism and the presidential election going to affect everything from interest rates to price of gold. I am also almost finishing collecting French gold coins from Napoleon to World War I but that was for passion as well as for a double effect investment, gold value and future demand potential. Mainly passion.
