All this CoinTalk about Panama silver..... A bunch of these Balboas are dated 1966 & some are more vintage. It is all 90% silver. If you buy a bunch of Panama silver, be prepared to pay for excess baggage on the way home.
In Latin America the more common coins are sold in what is called a central plaza, normally "plaza de armas" on Saturdays and Sundays. These are great places to find pieces that are lost in translation if you know what I mean. More expensive coins are sold in "antiguedades" dealers. Coin shops are not common due to limited stock options. I hate buying coins from the internet, but LOVE hunting for stuff in strange places meeting interesting people.
