Another one. Same seller. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1836-Gobre...m=192638553854&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
Looks weird to me. The eagle definitely looks off to me. I cant say for sure but then again, I dont think I have ever seen one that heavily "circulated". I'd stay away.
Certainly not a Gobrecht dollar expert. But it disturbs me when a coin this rare is not slabbed. And I want to follow this thread.
I honestly don't know much about them. I can see that they are problem coins, but I wanted to learn, so I posted them. Educate me!
Nothing jumps out as “fake,” but I would be very leery of buying one of these uncertified. I also find it a bit amusing that they included an NGC certified coin worth $30 to be able to include “NGC certified” in the second listing.
FWIW, I looked at this seller's goods about a week ago, and decided I wouldn't be looking again. Please be careful out there.
Only 12 feedback Member since Aug 18, 2018 Two good reasons to pass right there. But then again, you already knew that, and you were asking about the coins themselves.
So I see 1836 Judd-60. No star obverses, 26 star reverses, C. GOBRECHT F. Beneath rock, smooth edge. The second one, higher grade, may have cracks on the reverse which would indicate a restrike, but those could be scratches... I need to look at slabbed genuine examples to confirm.
no way would I buy this. looks very fake. If I were to spend that much money it better be slabbed TPG... PCGS or NGC.
Stay far away. I tracked down this feedback left for great-midwest-estates. https://www.ebay.com/sch/rqr_65/m.html?LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2046732.m1684 and this one...https://www.ebay.com/sch/thevogueap...lete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2046732.m1684 And yet another,https://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Positi...elivery-Guaranteed-Satisfaction-/173430742241
