I know we are coming out of a mini ice age a couple of hundred years ago so I know the earth SHOULD be warming up. I read about other periods of warming on the earth and the great boom in population, as well as the tremendous famine associated with cooling. </p><p><br /></p><p>Also I read the sea levels in human history have also gone up and down, that greenland used to be green and not the iceberg it was in the 17th and 18th century. Just because we have only measured scientifically for the last 200 years the earth does not mean that is a complete baseline.</p><p><br /></p><p>Now, if they made a deforestation commemorative, I would be the first order placed. Deforestation and the resulting desertification is the demonstrated, provable affect humans have had on the earth, and I truly wish everyone would talk about that trajedy and try to do something about it.</p><p><br /></p><p>I think why its not is because its hard to make a buck on deforestation, and nearly every global warming proponent like Mr. Gore has major investments that will make them billionaires if the legislation they propose goes through.
