That's a very difficult question to answer Consto, as coins purchased directly from the mint (any mint) hold more in sentimental/personal collector value as opposed to a long term and appreciable value. Does your Uncle enjoy collecting Canadian coins? If he does he may enjoy one of these, but that's very difficult to determine not knowing how and what your uncle collects. I will say this, however......the mintage's on those coins are rather low and it is quite possible that some of them could increase in value (future) way beyond their intrinsic nature.......

Or, get one of the three Canadian silver wildlife 1 oz coins. These are really neat and will fit your budget almost exactly. There is a Wolf, a Bear and a Cougar coin and all three are very attractive! Chances are, he doesn't have one but would really like it.
