I do not claim to know the names of all dealers who have ancients but see only three here. One is enough to make a good show if they have what you want. In my case that would be Don Zauche. Another listed here is Fred Shore who wrote a very good book on Parthian coins that you need to own if you collect Parthian. IMHO it is not worth $375. Amazon used books often are jokes.

http://www.amazon.com/Parthian-Coins-History-Dragons-Against/dp/0963673807

$295? That is what they seem to be bringing now.

http://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/cybernumis_world_coins/209/product/book_parthian_coins__history/452182/Default.aspx

I don't think he has any left at original list. Fred is a knowledgeable dealer in more expensive coins. His coins will cost more than Don's. The third I saw was Parry Bragg who sells absolutely any and everything (coins, stamps, tokens, buttons, paper and many things hard to define). He occasionally has an ancient I want but he is by no means a specialist dealer. Three dealers so very different could provide one that fits for many people but I doubt many will find anything of interest at all three tables. They are very different.

These guys do more shows than I could possibly find the strength to handle. Whether I will find anything worth buying at Fredericksburg depends on whether my dealers buy more at Gettysburg or sell all they had. I do not regularly see coins at a show I remember seeing the last time I saw that dealer except when the dealer is asking too much for a coin. Certainly I would rather you not buy the coins I want a week before I see them. Ulterior? Don't go to the show. All they will have is filthy money.
