The main issue here in the states is we still have $1 note. Other countries, like the UK and Canada stopped the notes and then made the coins. With both in circulation here, the notes win.
I don't know where you plan to visit but, in the Seattle area, the dollar coins are easy to come by. You can even turn up an old Ike large dollar coin sometimes.
Believe it or not, I have been turned down by Banks from purchasing rolls of coins because I did not have an account. However, it never hurts to ask but, have cash. As for the denomination of coins in the wrappers, If this were 2011, I'd say you could score full rolls of the same coin but since they stopped making them for the general public in 2012, its anybodies guess on what you might receive. Theoretically, you could get any number of Presidents, Some Native Americans, Some Sacagawea's and a couple of SBA's thrown in for good measure. What you WILL NOT receive in the rolls ............................. is an IKE Dollar!
Do you mean I've been searching for Morgan & Peace Dollars all this time for nothing? That stinks! Chris
Yes you can buy the gold presidency dollars at the and Susan b Anthony dollars as well as Kennedy halves to
