Getting More Even Lighting in Coin Photos

    Thanks Doug and Joe! One thing that makes the horse tricky is that it is pretty reflective without being fully shiny silver. Too much exposure and I get bright highlights. I will try grey paper, sounds like a good idea.

    The Sestertius is probably harder to capture. I don't like the shiny highlights in Marcus' hair in either shot, but without a lot of light, the blue patina does not show up. Not sure what to try next. Neither image really does the coin justice. The blue patina just grabs your attention in hand. I knew I was going to buy it as soon as I saw it at the FUN show last year.

    I appreciate all the comments, I am enjoying experimenting and learning.

    I'm going to be difficult and go with AJ's obverse and Theo's #4 reverse.

    A different iso and apperature can help you. Maybe try and reduce the size of the ring. Height and diameter.
