1943-P Jefferson Nickel DDO “Doubled Eye”



This is one of the most significant and valuable varieties of the entire series.

 

I think most, including myself, would disagree that the overdate is boring. And while the “Doubled Eye” might be the most impressive of the war Nickel varieties, surely the overdate is the most coveted. If you want a nice flashy MS67 war Nickel, then raise $100, but don’t sell off such a great coin as a 43/2-P to fund it.




The 43/2-P is the stopper to a complete war Nickel set, I say build around it.
