I agree with the reverse comment and about the oak leaf just kinda thrown in...I like the portrait though.
Here a few Doppeltaler, large silver coins worth 3 1/2 Gulden and a weight of 37 g. The most common ones, generally speaking, are those from Prussia, Bavaria, Braunschweig, Baden, Württemberg, Hessen, Hannover and Sachsen. Doppeltaler for Coburg Gotha, Weimar Eisenach, Altenburg, Nassau, Schwarzburg, Sigmaringen and Hechingen (to name a few) are quite scarce. Doppeltaler Hessen-Darmstadt 1841

No one like spinning coins? I thought this thread was “only the best”…. Tough room. Here is another one I’ve shown before: I have this coin in the 3 mark, 5 mark, and a fake 5 mark. – But here is something different. I purchased this coin as a rare Notgeld years back, but have not been able to find another example of it anywhere. I don’t have any Notgeld books, but have looked online everywhere. The coin is iron I believe (due to the rust), 5 mark, and approximately 16mm (I use plastic calipers for coins and they’re not 100% accurate, but great for ordering Air-Tites).
That iron piece is play money.
