My AV 1/2 Friedrichs d'or 1832-A Berlin Mint Friedrich Wilhelm III 1798-1840 Konig Preussen-Brandenburg
Thanks, Eagles are my fav. coin emblem Guess, that is why most Countries adopted it as their National Animal.
Great Photo of all the German rulers in Paris in 1871.(page 27) There is also an impressive medal for the occasion in bronze and silver.
The Bavarian Madonna Thalers are one of my favorites. I have often been tempted to collect them by date. But when I ran across this beauty I had to ignore my dislike of altered coins.

Thank you so much panzerman for your kind comment Yours are all awesome, and the Friedrich Wilhelm III is really mind blowing. You have a wonderful collection. Mine look kind of dirty, particularly the one from Hamburg, which has some reddish something - don't know what it is. Maybe I should wash them just with water and a mild soap?
Were someone so motivated, I think an entire thread could showcase just the BRD/FRD's different styles of eagles. I saw some mention of eagles earlier in this thread, which brought that to mind. Here's some that I have.
