The picture looks like this medal is silver plated white metal or pewter. and it may have had a loop when issued.
1794-A Prussia 1/3 Thaler. It is so worn I was not going to post but it's mine and why not it has history.
I just received the German silver Proof in the mail today. I can't read German but I love collecting German coins. I found several portraits of him but this coin. Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
MDM is a major coin dealer and distributor here; they also have agreements with various countries about collector coin issues. (World's biggest coin dealer, as they say.) I do not collect such medals, but may well be that they are less expensive on the secondary market ... Christian
Probably paid too much for but really liked the detail & the toning (even with the spots on the reverse) 1871 German States Prussia 3 Pfenninge (A=Berlin Mint)
I absolutley love the Eagle design on this coin. It has that majestic regal look to it. German coins have always had that "WOW" factor. I love them and will continue to collect them for years to come.
Man oh Man...these two coins are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I am writing them down now so I can look up later. Thanks for sharing.
