I've been looking for a good Germanicus for a long time after my last Germanicus died of bronze disease a few years ago. I think this replacement is pretty cool:

    IMG_0816.jpg IMG_0817.jpg

This brings my Roman ruler count to 146. Next I need Britannicus for my Julio-Claudian set.

Does anybody have a complete set of Julio-Claudian imperials they can share?

Nice! I wish I had a Sestertius of Britannicus or Agrippina Junior to show. Got all the other folks though, and here is Germanicus:

Lovely patina on that one, @GregH! Here's my very pedestrian specimen.

    A very pleasing example.

I'm happy with my rough silver of him.

The date of this issue remains uncertain. RPC places it late in Tiberius' reign, circa 33/4 AD, while the traditional dating, adopted by RIC and Sydenham, place's it in the first year of Caligula's reign, 37/8 AD.

    Nice portrait and patina!
I believe I have all the Julio- Claudians, with a provincial Britannicus, save Nero Claudius Drusus. He's a slippery one.

    Nice example!

I cut corners by collecting many of the members in provincial coins, but I have every coin-issuing member of the Julio-Claudian dynasty except for Agrippa Postumus, Drusilla and Julia (Caligula's sisters), Julia Drusilla (daughter of Caligula), Antonia (daughter of Claudius), Statillia Messalina, and Claudia (daughter of Nero).

    Anyway, my coins of Germanicus:

Lifetime, with Drusus (lifetime issues are scarcer than you'd think) - Sardes, Lydia
    Germanicus Drusus Caesars sardes lydia.jpg

    Posthumous, under Caligula
Germanicus AE by Caligula SIGNIS RECEPTIS.jpg

Posthumous under Caligula, with Agrippina I - Aezanis, Phrygia
Germanicus and Agrippina aezanis phrygia posthumous.jpg

    Posthumous by Claudius
    Germanicus AE as under claudius.jpg

I am confident that I can share the absolute worst Germanicus in this thread - it came in an eBay lot, cost about a dollar, and unlike all the lovely specimens in this thread, mine can stand up on its edge. If anybody wants to swap, please let me know. :bucktooth:
