    In my younger years I only knew about Stolberg, NW (near Aachen), hehe. Took a while until I learned that there is one in Saxony-Anhalt too. What is nice about this Stolberg is that they still have the old mint, right in the heart of the old town. I've been there two times; it is a museum, but they continue to mint (medals) there, using an old balancier. Pretty cool. :)

    Wow! I did not know that, thanks for that interesting history. I was born just outside the old medieval town of Julich/ Julich-Cleve-Berg. My Mom was born in Koln, both issued coinage. Germany has an amazing history, even more spectacular coin history, thankfully many of these survived to this day, some as pristine as they were struck in 1600s.:happy:
