I also collect Prussian/German coins and currency. Have coins and currency from early 1800's to Euro's. Some of my 5 and 3 Mark Prussian coins have "rainbow" tone. very beautiful...enjoy your collecting!

Wow, Preussen - very nice coins (well, most of them) and in excellent condition! As for "favorite" nazi coins, well, I have none. Political issues left aside, the Schiller portrait is good, but - like all pieces from Nazi Germany - such Fraktur fonts look awful on coins. (IMO & YMMV. )

Thanks for the comments. I certainly don’t collect 3rd Reich coins because of the political ideology (not that you implied that I did), but for the history they represent. As for the lettering, I like it :smile

As for “YMMV,” well, I had to look that one up -Preussen

Ordered this one up last night...

 

Brian,that is a very nice Vereinsthaler from Frankfurt,despite the mount marks on the reverse.I had a Prussian 2 Vereinsthaler dated 1841A with mount marks on the obverse.I've got it at work,as I will be getting it put on eBay one of these days.
