A few from my collection... Many 1960 examples exist. The Piacentile/Sheiner Cent See Jefferson's face below?
@Insider Would ICG label the two 1960 cents above as "Second Strike from Fake Dies" if I sent them to be slabbed as counterfeits? I have quite a few counterfeits I show at presentations at shows and coin clubs. They often find counterfeits fascinating and they make great teaching tools on what to look for.
Now this is what I call post-mint-damage. Very cool. Do you know if these were randomly produced or are their series of coins struck from the same die?
I think I came across one yesterday. I didn’t have time to scrutinize it but I told the proprietor it was likely fake. I’ll return this weekend to have a look. Said he also bought a three legged buffalo. I suspect it’s fake too. We shall see.
I think we just call them counterfeits. If what you ask fits on the label we'll do it. Additionally, just to see the fake errors, we'll only charge $10 @ plus postage - a significant discount from the normal price for our yellow labels.
Sounds good. Thanks so much for a special offer. I will get them out to you by the end of the week. Very gracious of you! ~Joe Cronin
