I'm just looking at some Shield nickels and am wondering what are the average selling prices?

I know it's hard to say without pictures but what would you all pay for very fine condition coins? In slabs I see them going for $12 all the way up to a hundred fifty.

And eBay recent sales shows random prices from$6 to 55 for loose coins.

I just have no idea about worth.

Also what about damaged shield nickels, maybe a couple bucks?

What date? 1880 and 1881 shield nickels will be worth much more than 1867s and 1868s.

It really depends on the date and if the coin has any noticeable flaws.

Let's say whatever date is most common and coins that are circulated and show detail near fine condition.

Something like this condition. I know this person is fooling themselves but would a coin like this be worth 2 dollars or 20 dollars? What do common date average condition Shields sell for realistically.

Like coin tracker says an AG 1867 is worth $15.

    USA coin book says $35

I can't see paying more than a buck for an an AG?
