C89 => cool rock pick-ups (congrats) ... Hey, did you get close enough to toss your underpants onto the stage?!!
That is exactly what it was like in row 1 at Melissa Ethridge. I took a survey of the front center first 4 rows. With the exception of one male, it was 100% female. All were screaming & singing and appeared "very excited" to be there. Photo of ROCK show.
I've always liked her stuff ... and yes, the ladies seem to like what she does as well, eh? (good for her => she's awesome)
This raw stone is likely to be semi- precious. It weighs a little bit over one kilogram and is close to navy- blue color. I manage to photograph it from 3 different angles. Could you please guess what is it ?
I am really loving this thread. I was just telling someone yesterday that I wish God would have left more minerals in Southern Indiana.. There are plenty of arrowheads, however.
I don't think so. Lapis would make more sense, given the look of that matrix. I said azurite because in the pictures the blue mineral looks rather glassy and semi-transparent. Does it look that way in hand, or is the blue opaque?

The rock this weekend was a rendition of the Who's Rock Opera Tommy. Yep, front row, guitar pick for collection, etc. Rock-on people.
I saw The Who in New Haven in the late 70's when I was in college. I am told it was a fantastic concert.
I had a similar experience ... we saw The Who in Seattle (The Clash was the warm-up band that stole the show!!) ... we drove down from Vancouver in a van that we'd bolted lazy-boy seats to the floor (good times)
Umm. Me too. It was at the New Haven Coliseum and I was in section 17 with my girl friend (wife to this day).
Hi. I came back to this former thread, being eagerly curious to find out whether the parallel lines on these 2 stones depict an ancient lettering. Thanks for your assistance.
Looks like an ancient rock. I don’t know much about ancient writing but perhaps it was a cut /chiseled rock that was painted with a pigment in ancient times. It would be cool to learn more about it. Here is a new addition to my ROCK collection. This sample is a colorful orbicular jasper called “ocean jasper” from the shores of Madagascar. I picked it up at a rock & mineral show that was held last weekend at our local junior high school. Also- a new ROCK guitar pick which was handed to me in Detroit two weeks ago. Rock-on coin people.
It's likely to be basalt rock. Why would the ancient people paint rocks. I mean for what purpose ? Artistic, industrial or even religious etc...
"Rock"ed out with Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes last night. The Gary Douglas Band opened the show. Guitar picks from Jeremy Goldsmith, Gary Douglas, & Glenn Alexander are now added to the collection. Here is the souvenir signed by both bands after the show. Surprisingly I have no hangover symptoms this morning.
