Found out today that my 1921 HR Peace got a green CAC sticker!!!




@Mainebill did quite well too!
@mainer020648 got a few.

These Maine boys like their stickers.

 

To celebrate a resolution to a court case in my favor, I bought a coin for the Set today.

From DLRC. They accepted my reasonable offer right away.

Coin seems nice and clean (in a good way ), not too many hits, but obviously lacking in luster.

 

Where Do I Buy my Coins?

In case you wanted to know where I buy the coins for my Type Set, here is an updated listing. It might give you some new leads on coins. As you can see, I buy a lot of coins from certain sellers, but at the same time, I'm an opportunist, picking up coins as I see them and not working exclusively with one dealer, or one auction house, or one eBay seller.

I even have bought a coin or two I liked off some rude sellers. I dealt with one of those today, and bought the coin anyway. Has a large store, big seller, but customer service is really lacking and emails are incredibly short and (barely) to the point. Not sure why some sellers seem so inconvenienced by returning an email or selling a coin.

A few days ago I tried buying another coin, and the seller on eBay was really nasty, and we mutually agreed to block one another. Funny thing was, he insisted I was trying to buy the coin for my own eBay store, which is NOT true. I told him I wanted it for my Type set, but he said "you're funny" and a bunch of other rude comments as we went back and forth. He thought I was low-balling him, and I would put the coin in my store at double the price. I told him there are 20 other copies of that coin, and no one would ever buy it at double the going rate. His coin "was the best one on ebay", and "I knew it" Anyway, he refused to sell it for $35, but immediately after he blocked my account, he lowered it to $37 I guess to mess with me. Not sure why he acted so strangely, but as I told him, he lost a customer for life. He actually seemed quite happy about it.

Updates:

• Shipment from CAC to me expected any day.
• 2 IHC expected any day (newps)
• Shipment to CAC getting ready to leave next week
• Large batch of Coins to Photograph for @mainer020648 @Mainebill and myself.
• Working with Gerry Fortin on reviewing his blog, and making suggestions from a non-dealer, non-advanced collector's perspective.
• Working to get my kids into Private School (wait, that's not coin related)
• I updated my inventory and increased my insurance limits through Hugh Wood. I Highly recommend everyone do that yearly.
• Lowered the prices on some coins to unload items that do not fit my Type Set criteria.
• Worked on creating some pretty sophisticated search bots that will help me find coins I need quick, as they are listed. See THIS POST for a basic intro.

 

Two new coins for the set today (it was almost 3), and both without CAC stickers!

 

I thought that at first too, but it grew on me quickly. Obviously, it grew on me enough to make me the winning bidder. I have owned enough gorgeous blast white 1964 Kennedy Halves, I wanted to do something different for my type set.

Plus, it goes nicely with the other example in my set:

 

I have updated photos on around 30% of my collection.

I recently completed a deal to swap bullion for this coin, but I don't have it in-hand yet.
