Thanks @Orfew for correcting, I may need to adjust my coining ritual - to include Yorkshire tea in place of red wine.
thanks. Yes, the portrait sold me on the coin because Vespasian is scowling so much, it looks like his nose is going to touch his chin. As with most coins, it’s better in hand.
Nice additions, Gavin! You certainly have a great selection of Constantine I (I do not have any) Thanks for sharing yours, I wish you a great 2020 coin year. John
All in all quite a good year, even on the coin front Quite a lot of collectors would love bad years like that. You did very well on a limited budget, congrats Q
My favorite is Tiberius. I like this early Roman Emperor, one of the 12 Caesars. Best wishes for happy holidays and promising new year. Cheers.
Excellent Ebay snipes, and all of your top 5 are great coins! I have wondered about the Principi Ivventvtus reverse paired with Constantine as Augustus myself. Strange combo! Here's a coin I bought this year also inspired by @jamesicus's rhapsodies on Roman capitals, but the SC on this doesn't even approach the elegance of that on your Tiberius as.
I don’t have one of those quadrantes. Most are quite affordable but pretty rough. These are among the nicer ones I’ve seen.
I'd love to get an anepigraphic Constantine, that is a pretty awesome coin! The Tiberius is also awesome but man, how cool is that Homer reverse?
