The obverse die for the 1807 proof halfpenny listed earlier was made from the KH35 - KH37 die used for 1806 proof halfpennies. KH35 (P1361) & KH36 (P1362-4) are seen with a smooth rim or just a trace of defect where the rim starts to impinge of the border beads, but I have yet to see a KH37 (P1365) with anything like a decent rim.

KH36 was the usual proof halfpenny and apparently struck over a long period of time in copper, bronzed and gilt finishes.
Of the above 3, the best is the copper at the top and the worst the slabbed bronzed piece. By comparison, none are as bad as the KH37 (P1365) seen below, with the possible die break around the rim seen an additional feature not seen on either KH35 or KH36. Taylor changed the radius of the die in the defective area and re-engraved the border beads. I wrote an article on this in the 2007 British Numismatic Journal. 1806 was a prolific year for Soho patterns and proofs, and by extension, a source of Taylor restrikes. A few more items. First up, a silver proof, P1372. Possibly the only example available to collectors as the other three I'm aware of are in museums. A KH33 (P1357) gilt halfpenny made before the 3rd and 6th jewels broke on the bust punch. Contradicting Peck's assertion that a ball below the trident indicates a proof die. This is a regular currency piece. And here's one with berries on the reverse. P1377. A Taylor restrike of an 1806 bronzed halfpenny R99 (P1379) And to prove there's more to the collection than just proof and pattern halfpennies, a currency farthing.
