Your avatar makes me smile. My grandson lives with me, and is 9 months old. When he was about 7 mo. it was too early to teach him to talk. I wondered if I could teach him something else. I was ecstatic when he learned the raspberries. My daughter has a hilarious video of her talking to him as he is sitting, concentrating on a toy in hand, and responding with raspberries.
    Folks
Excuse me for getting off subject.

Heeheehee... After several really tough years of legal/business/relationship issues, I realized that Avatar character still lives within me -- raspberries and all. What, me worry? (Excuse me too for getting off subject.) :p

    Stork I deliver

Babies/young children can be taught non-verbal communication long before the actual words. Things like sign language even, so why not a raspberry :D.

Now, onto 1812, it's been long enough! My last duty station was Rota, Spain. Most days one could look across the water and see Cadiz. So even though the Spanish coin bug did not strike I HAD to get SOMETHING from the Cadiz mint. Graffiti'd and not fancy, but I like it :).

Great Britain, Colony of Lower Canada - Thomas Halliday halfpenny token, 8.64g
1812 Thomas Halliday halfpenny token obv.jpg
1812 Thomas Halliday halfpenny token rev.jpg

Charlton in his Standard Catalog of Canadian Colonial Tokens says: These are an extensive series on anonymous tokens struck by Thomas Halliday in 1812 and 1813. They were good weight and were designed by Halliday who also cut the dies. They saw extensive use in England until 1817, when copper tokens were ordered to be withdrawn from circulation, and then shipped to Canada to circulate here.

The Halliday Token can be disguised from the 1832 restrike tokens of Joseph Tiffin by the Halliday mintmarks (H). The obverse H mintmark is found in the left truncation. The reverse mintmark is found on the ground at the right.
