How does 1 Rin compare to 1/2 Sen? I have a 1882 1/2 sen but no picture.

Which makes it 1/5 of the half sen.

 

Okay I've seen the RIN and YEN...now how about a SEN

Well, if you are posting Morgans here is a 1882S. One of the ugliest looking coins I own, at least on the obverse.

Okay we have been on 1882 for more than 24hrs i believe.

Time for 1881

Can someone tell me what could be going on in the upper left side of the obverse of this coin? Looks like metal on top of the lettering here.

It is difficult to decipher the raised metal when the coin is worn.

Perhaps the die was damaged.

Perhaps is a lamination (planchet error) where the letters have somehow been worn away and the raised metal remains. It would be more likely that the piece fell away but that would not necessarily leave a raised area.

The raised metal is a puzzlement & I'm not being much help.
