My first yen IIRC, M.23/1890. I haven't had this one slabbed...think it MIGHT come back a details grade .

 

1890 Eine Rupee from Tanganyika (East German Africa).

 

Just wanted you non-US collectors to know that this US collector is getting a real kick out of seeing all your fascinating coins.

 

That's how you get sucked in. Maybe a little 'one from every country' set...with circulated coins, it'll be cheap and fun (hah!). Or, a set with family ties. Or, a themed set like dogs. Next you will give an ancient a try, or a medieval. One day you will wake up and realize you have come over to the darkside.

 

That is nice, but it's from Portugal, not Brazil.

 

Actually, when you get into Medieval/Ancients you are becoming, "enlightened". My favorite coins are from 650BC-1700
