I have a couple marked 1776 - a very interesting Drury Lane ticket or tally, and a more common GB Fourpence:

I don't recall knowing I had 1776 dated coins. Well, I probably knew I had them, just not a conscious awareness they were 1776s!

    First a Luneburg-Callenberg-Hannover one pfenning.
    pfennig-01-1776LCR-km330.jpg

Then a Pomeranian three pfenninge. pfenninge-03-1776-km422.jpg

A couple of GB coppers to share - a contemporary counterfeit Halfpenny and a Regal (I believe) Farthing. For 1775 I have yet to get a decent halfpenny that is not a contemporary counterfeit!

    1774:

Louis XV. dedicated a lot of his reign to his courtisans and was rarely able to handle the absolute power that was inherited to him by his great-grandfather. But in his last years some will to reform the Kingdom seems to have sparked in him and he started an authoritarian phase from 1770-1774. It was too late for saving his dynasty but I like to think that this phase is getting represented in the harsher looking portraits his late coinage got.

All I have are GB coppers again for 1774. First two are halfpennies - the first is genuine (Regal) I believe, the second a contemporary counterfeit, which shows just how difficult it was to tell the apart. The last is a farthing - Regal.
