Well, I too have one of those 1861 Frankfurt a.M. two-thalers, but Chris B's looks much better. So I'll find something else . . . Ahh, here we go.

Hanover, 1861-B ein vereinsthaler or one-thirtieth of a pound. Per wiki, "George V (George Frederick Alexander Charles Ernest Augustus; 27 May 1819–12 June 1878) was the last King of Hanover and a member of the German branch of the House of Hanover. He was a grandson of George III of the United Kingdom and son of Ernest Augustus, King of Hanover. George V was a cousin of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom."

The only thing I have is this 1860 Henry Clay medal. Not dated but it is attributed to 1860.

I'll do two of my 1860 dated coins.

First, the United States of America, three-cents.

And then a Prussian vereinsthaler (one-thirtieth of a pound) - minted in Berlin - during the reign of Frederick William the Fourth. He died in January 1861, and was succeeded by his brother, William I, who had been ruling as regent since 1858 after FW had a stroke.

1860 Weyl pattern penny with a milled edge and struck in tin. Catalogued in a Glendining sale in 1993 as being aluminium, and subsequently repeated in sales since then. Presumably this was on account of Peck only recording aluminium due to the BM's coin. The weight at 10.40g is approx. 3.25x too heavy for the lighter metal, leading me to carry out an EDX test of the metal proving it to be tin. See my article in the 2011 BNJ. Ex Murdoch, Roberts & Adams collections.

1860 bronzed pattern penny by the Birmingham die sinker, Joseph Moore. This is a Peck 2106, which has Peck's obverse D allegedly showing the die in its final state - but is wrong (more to come when I've written it).

And another Moore pattern, this time struck in white metal, but for some reason Freeman considered them struck in antimony. Analysis has shown them to be roughly 2 parts tin to 1 part lead. This shows Peck's obverse B in the heavily rusted state paired with a different reverse die. Peck 2114 refers. ex Adams collection

1859 - Albertine Saxony, two pfennige. I believe the F mint mark is for the Stuttgart Mint.

You are so correct, panzerman. Sorry for my laziness. The "F" mark or initial in 1859 on Albertine Saxony coinage was for Gustav Theodor Fischer, Mint Master, at the Dresden Mint from 1845 through 1860. Not the F on German coinage today that is the mint mark for the Stuttgart Mint.
