I agree with coin_nut! Great job as always Curtis:) We had a lot of collectors keep this thread going, with their awesome coin postings. I tried my dardest to find the next date, but was unsuccessfull.

Late entries. I found the following on the ANS website. Unfortunately they have no photos so they don't count. It's a pity we never got an Islamic collector interested in this thread.

Excellent contribution, @talerman! I'm a collector of Islamic coins, just bridge the gap to the early 14th century, and I can help you. A large part of the Islamic coins are dated to the year, some even to the month, starting from the end of the 7th century. I'm sure collectors of Chinese coins can help, too.

I think this thread has been stalled out for a long time. Wonder if there is some way to restart it, maybe return to the present and work back through the ages again? Most of us have probably forgotten what coins were previously posted by now.

Best just to do it Ed! Here is a 2021 2p from circulation to kick things off again:

Here is my only 2021 coin. I'm not into many colorized "coins" like this but the whole family likes sitting down together to watch this show (The Mandalorian). We are all big Star Wars fans. This was actually purchased for my wife, she loves this guy.

I thought the UK was going to stop releasing new 2p and 2 pounds to circulation. Or is that after this year?

I think the message was that they would not be minting anymore £2 coins for circulation for the foreseeable future, because they have built up such a stockpile that they need no more for something like 20 years! It has been noticeable that older issues from 2016 have been appearing virtually Uncirculated into circulation recently, so I suspect that is some of the old stock coming out.
The 2021 2p has certainly been release this year, but that has been the first new small denomination since 2017. They have reverted to making/releasing as required only.
Of course there is a bigger debate as to whether the 1p and 2p are viable in the modern age, or indeed if we should surrender to a cashless society! I hope not - not only does it seriously disadvantage the less well off, it means "big brother" has yet another means of spying on us.

Great Idea to restart this. I once participated in a similar thread on numista and its really nice to see all the history unfold year by year. Sadly I dont have a 2021 coin in my collection yet so Ill join when we reach the catasthrophy year 2020 ;)

It seems nobody has many 2021 coins, so maybe we should move onto 2020? Here are a few from GB - one of our worst "woke" years ever!

Yes, 2020 will probably be long remembered as a right bad year. Captain Trips got let loose. Here is a 2020 Kazakhstan 200 tenge
